@goniath You may wish to trial Standard process labs Okra Pepsin at 2 per meal with plenty of water, as well as investigating the H. Pylori angle. H pylori often comes back after treatment and I believe this is due to its presence in the teeth/gums. So Chewing mastic gum may be advised.

New Method to Treat Hernias in Elderly Men with Progesterone Antagonists
Wondering if there is a testosterone metabolite or topical estrogen / progesterone blocker that would work here?
*ABSTRACT
Northwestern University researchers have developed a new method of treating hernia with progesterone antagonists. By using a hernia-prone rodent model that expresses human aromatase, Dr. Serdar Bulun’s lab demonstrated that the conversion of testosterone to estrogen and the increased estrogen activity in the lower abdominal skeletal muscle tissues lead to fibrosis and hernia formation, a pathway that recapitulates aspects of hernia formation in elderly men. More importantly, progesterone receptor expression is regulated by estrogen receptor signaling, and progesterone treatment promotes hernia formation. Therefore, Dr. Bulun and his team at Northwestern developed a method that can be used to treat hernia in elderly men by blocking progesterone receptors using progesterone antagonists delivered orally or subcutaneously. In animal studies, progesterone antagonists prevented the formation of hernia and reversed the progression of small to medium sized hernia. This invention targets the underlying mechanism of hernia formation and appears to be one of the first non-invasive therapeutics for hernias.*

RE: Hairloss from iron overload and effective ways to reduce iron?
Also just wanted to mention that, for athletes, these tests are notoriously wrong. The reason being that, for example, runners pound red blood cells in the bottom of their feet and end up with free high iron in their blood. ("foot-strike hemolysis,") But it cannot be recycled and they often end up anemic.

RE: How to fix haemorrhoids/piles?
@holyshineball
Here are some suggestions- Epsom salt bath, use plenty - expect some stinging if the area is irritated
- Bioflavanoids like Rutin in large doses like 2-3 grams will stop any bleeding that is due to tissue integrity factors (eat more fruit and veg) I like Rutin better than Quercetin since it seems to be absorbed better.
- Use a squirt bottle with Saline after BM's and avoid excessive wiping which causes micro abrasions and leads to inflammation. Avoid bleached commercial TP if at all possible. Use good defecating posture - we evolved squatting.
- Walking. Work up to 5 miles a day. High intensity is not needed but you must move lymph and the calf muscles do a lot of this work.

RE: How to get rid off the mold?
@Njegos One thing you can try is to put a cup of organic Vinegar (one that has the mother culture in it not cheap white vinegar) and leave it out to fume. The idea is you are introducing a competing organism. You could even spray the area with it, but it is acidic so it may damage paint etc.
Meanwhile use a binder internally to help your system catch it and get it out. Things like charcoal and fulvic/humic acids, etc.

RE: Aspirin use besides orally
@LucyJ You might wish to experiment with Mineral Salicylate compounds. One OTS is Doan's pills / magnesium salicylate, another is Copper Salicylate if you can find it or make it.
In addition, you may find the use of phosphatidyl choline to be protective per this study:
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3572323/
"With this information in hand, we reasoned that this ability of aspirin and other NSAIDs to topically injure the mucosa may be prevented if the drug was chemically pre-associated with synthetic or organic (soybean) PC. Accordingly, preclinical studies on experimental animals50-55 and clinical studies11,12 have demonstrated a remarkable reduction in the ability of a number of NSAIDs to induce GI ulceration and bleeding when the NSAIDs were chemically associated with PC before intragastric administration."

RE: Looking for advice
@ilnyarienàfaire said in Looking for advice:
I have a pretty bad case of acne, and it’s gotten worse over the past year.
I have pain in different parts of my body, especially around my neck and shoulders, which feels tight. I’ve tried massages and hot baths, but nothing seems to help. These two above points are a red flag for dental issues. Did you have problems that started with wisdom or other tooth extraction? What do your gums look like? Any redness or outward signs of inflammation there? When you get a cold or flu what are the pressure points of pain / your weak spots.

RE: Thyroid not working - Low sodium and chlorine in blood?
@pabloag10 I would suggest you look into TRIORAL Rehydration Electrolyte Powder if its ok with your health professionals that you consume it in one quart of water.
It's essentially the same as pedialyte though way cheaper and using the pure water you can find. -
RE: Can Someone Explain What Cholesterol Values Should REALLY Be?
@sweetwaterpickle You may wish to consider adding tissue integrity factors like bioflavonoids (hesperidin, rutin, etc). The balloon pressure is reduced but the integrity of the balloon can still be weak. There is a formed product called Cyruta Plus that a chiropractor can prescribe but in my experience up to 3g rutin is quite safe long term and will help reduce the chances of another stroke.
*Abstract
Intracerebral hemorrhagic (ICH) stroke is a major cause of death and disability globally, with no proper treatment available so far. Rutin, a dietary flavonoid, has shown protection against cerebral ischemic stroke due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory attributes. However, the efficacy of rutin against ICH stroke remained unexplored. Therefore, in the current study, we investigated the effect of rutin in an ICH stroke zebrafish larva model. The larvae were exposed to atorvastatin (1.25 μM) in system water for induction of experimental ICH. Rutin treatment reduced the hematoma size, ROS production and decreased apoptosis in the zebrafish larvae brains. Reduction in the malondialdehyde and protein carbonyl level in the rutin-treated larvae also indicated quenching of the free radicals. The treatment increased the expression of tight junction claud5a gene and decreased the mRNA level of matrix metalloproteases (mmp2 and mmp9). Furthermore, rutin treatment also attenuated the genomic expression of oxidative markers (nrf2, hmox1a, sod1, and gpx) and inflammatory genes (il6, tnfa, il10, and irf2a) related to ICH. The Gsk-3β activity was also downregulated, and a normal pool of β-catenin and Nrf2 was maintained in the larvae treated with rutin. The current study suggested that rutin protects ICH stroke via suppressing oxidative stress and inflammatory events in a zebrafish model.*

RE: Dopamine may treat all types of breast cancer
@haidut Your work is much appreciated! What do you think of using ALCAR (Acetyl-L-carnitine) to raise dopamine? From personal experience it seems to be able to do this on an empty stomach.
Here is one study -that begs the question what kind of electrical sim were they using?:Effect of acetyl-L-carnitine on the dopaminergic system in aging brain
*Abstract
We studied the effect of acetyl-L-carnitine (ALCAR) on dopamine release and the effect of long-term acetyl-L-carnitine treatment on age-related changes in striatal dopamine receptors and brain amino acid levels. In striatal tissue that had been incubated with [3H]dopamine, acetyl-L-carnitine increased the release of [3H]dopamine evoked by electrical stimulation. In striatal tissue from aged mice administered acetyl-L-carnitine for 3 months, the release of [3H]dopamine evoked by electrical stimulation was higher than that of its aged control; the release after a second stimulation was similar in the two groups. There was a significant decline in the number of D1 striatal dopamine receptors with age. The Bmax was 51% lower in 1.5-year-old mice than in 4-month-old animals. Administration of acetyl-L-carnitine for 3 months diminished the reduction in the binding of [3H]SCH-23390. [3H]Spiperone binding to D2 receptors was not decreased with age and was not affected by acetyl-L-carnitine treatment. Age-related decreases in levels of several amino acids were observed in several brain regions. Acetyl-L-carnitine lessened the reduction in the level of taurine only in the striatum. The findings confirm the multiple effects of acetyl-L-carnitine in brain, and suggest that its administration can have a positive effect on age-related changes in the dopaminergic system.*

RE: Endotoxin Inflammation Stack
@LucH This is getting odd -- like there are two threads going here. I am responding to the original poster, but I guess it isn't clear from the forum format. 120mg will likely cause problems IRT Zinc supplementation. Really lower dose Zinc-Carnosine would be better IMO.
-
RE: Endotoxin Inflammation Stack
@mostlylurking Thats great but the OP said 120mg zinc and that is too much.
-
RE: Endotoxin Inflammation Stack
@mostlylurking Yes they all compete with each other that way so such an induced deficiency is possible. 120mg is way too much in my opinion to use for any length of time. I personally gave myself tendonitis a few times before realizing what 50mg zinc was doing to me over time. A friend at work did the same thing with overdosing a supplement called ZMA - gave himself numerous tendon and ligament issues and eventually had to have surgery.
-
RE: Endotoxin Inflammation Stack
@herayclitus That much Zinc will deplete copper and manganese which can lead to things like tendon and ligament weakness among others - so watch out for that.

Ivermectin and Cancer Stem Cells
Ivermectin Versus Cancel Stem cells
Quite an interesting study, looking forward to it being replicated. I know Ivermectin is made from a fermented product of Streptomyces avermitilis -- so could one just take Streptomyces avermitilis ?
Wondering if the mechanism of action here can be replicated by something else since Ivermectin seems difficult to obtain.

RE: Castor Oil as solvent
@metabolicmilk I haven't noticed any problems with it. I am currently experimenting with it in terms of hair growth and carrying things into the scalp. Current trial is NMN just a pinch on the thin spot at the back of my head and the temples. I'm using a roll on applicator from queen of the thrones which is rather expensive but saves on the mess a bit. Looking into getting the proper 2-Deoxy-D-ribose --
I see one american made here : https://www.chemimpex.com/2-deoxy-d-ribose
However it's somewhat concerning that they also carry a "low endotoxin" version possibly indicating that standard manufacturing of https://www.chemimpex.com/2-deoxy-d-ribose may leave it with endotoxins that could be problematic. Of course maybe the endotoxins were responsible for the hair growth in the first place through some kind of counter irritant effect?
Sorry getting way off topic lol ....
