@dht I agree that keeping the steroid cascade going in important, even critical. If you HPTA is shut down, then even if you are using exogenous androgens, if you aren’t producing p5 and p4 then you aren’t getting any of the benefits that they or their metabolites turn into. My idea was to use a non-aromatizing compound like masteron or proviron and tbol or whatever else fits the bill with the idea being that your HPTA stays in tact, thus you never lose testicular steroidogenesis completely, thus you still get the youth hormones. If you were going to use progesterone for this purpose, would you try to inject it or go with oral in tocopherols? And even if you’re right about progesterone not shutting down HPTA, what do you think about the possibility that it will have anti-androgenic effects at the transcriptional level or even cause lack of libido because of how it affects the male brain?

@Mulloch94 my thinking with the progesterone was to support the upstream hormones bc im supplementing a downstream, so if my E drops too low, it could potentially aromatize, iirc progesterone has strong antiestrogenic effects but can increase estrogen in men as well... I guess I have a "High T" phenotype (wide face and frame, low voice, large hands and pretty decent muscular development) but I have some gyno and have very little body hair, which seems in line with low 5ar. i also smoked weed chronically for years durring developmental periods which is why I think my 5ar is fucked. to me it seems smarter to start with something that powerful enough to reach escape velocity with regards to my 5ar like exogenous DHT, then when my 5ar is sorted try T... but honestly if i get what i want from DHT i dont see any reason to play around with more hormones and risk suppression.

@SuziQ It recommends external use for legal reasons as it is a cosmetic product. I would suggest you to read carefully all the comments on the energin thread on the ray peat forum. I have used it a few times but I'm not sure I felt much from it when I used it topically, so I use it orally diluted in orange juice to avoid the garlic taste. I really like Energin as it makes me feel very focused and very calm! You need to take it on a full stomach as it makes you very hungry. You might want to take a half dose at the beginning and see how you feel. Hope it helps!

@samson Why would you need more dietary cholesterol? If anything supplementing with an end-point androgen would initiate feedback loops leading to less steroidogenesis, thus lowering the dietary requirement for cholesterol, right? Or maybe you're referring to the fact that androsterone is a thyroid mimetic, thus increasing metabolism in steroid-producing organs, thus leading to a higher requirement of dietary cholesterol? Perhaps you would need more cholesterol because androsterone or its metabolites, being 5AR androgens, stimulate their own synthesis, thus increasing the need for dietary cholesterol to fuel the enhanced steroidogenesis? I don't know which possibility is correct, but if you know which is correct, please enlighten us.

Ratio mercury / selenium in fish NB: Graph on the link beneath. Ratio Mercure / Sélénium dans la sardine, le maquereau et le thon https://mirzoune-ciboulette.forumactif.org/t1264-poisson-frais-et-huile-composition#14421 We should have less Hg (mercury) than Se. Maximum ratio 1. I’d avoid fish predator as Haddock, sea bream, halibut and specifically tuna. Never more than once a week when eating a predator. Tuna ratio is 331/36. It depends on the species too. Therefore, it's highly toxic. Expressed in ppm per 100g of fish, this gives a ratio of 9.2. But in canned fish, this ratio is closer to 2/1 or 1/1 (extracted oil), I think. Source: Calypso, 2016 (équipe Cousteau) Search Google with: Mercure et étude calypso 2016. Analyze (in French) https://auculdubateau.wordpress.com/2016/06/02/le-poisson-est-il-pollue-voici-les-faits-espece-par-espece/ Table Same, but drop down the menu on the link and bring back the table, which you will divide into 2, for easier reading. Highlight: Canned tuna contains much less fat than fresh tuna (used for other purposes, such as omega-3s). There's not really a problem because mercury is mainly found in the fat. (This tuna is therefore acceptable once a week, except for pregnant women and children, contrary to what you might usually read.) Obviously, we'll favor the least polluted sources... Please keep an eye on Se and Mg (antagonists of mercury)! Additional info See too for comment (scroll downwards to see different sources): Ratio Mercure / Sélénium dans la sardine, le maquereau et le thon https://mirzoune-ciboulette.forumactif.org/t1264-poisson-frais-et-huile-composition#14421

@lucid-alive Amazon has the Contec branded capnograph. It is sold in Asia as not limited to pet use, but in the US it is sold as a pet device. https://a.co/d/irCl4h2 https://s.lazada.com.ph/s.r2Snp Contec makes many other good medical devices, but this is its first capnograph afaik. I haven't used it, so I can't vouch for it. It's likely you'll have to go solo figuring out how to make good use of it in the bioenergetic space. It's worth a shot if it can help you monitor your metabolic condition. I'm not in a hurry to get one as I have one device I bought 3 years ago and haven't begun using.

@Corngold said in Manuka honey?: @DavidPS Your post is interesting. I'm sure real raw honey is full of better stuff which is why I'm still skeptical of store bought. Yes, I agree. Caveat emptor. For years, local suppliers of honey at farmer's markets have been feeding their bees with trays of sugar water to increase honey production. The result is honey, but it is not the same as the honey that the bees make from nectar. I wonder if the most recent trend would be to use GMO high fructose corn syrup to make the sugar water for the bees. It is all about increasing profitability. Can Bees Make Honey From Sugar Water?
