@CO3 how would you feel about a single tasteful ad for BLOO scalp powder?

RE: Advice for an overweight peater starting his journey?
@enjoyeroflife If you think you're hypothyroid that's a good place to start. Measure basal body temp and RHR. Then look into T3/T4. I've also found that 1 tbsp of coconut oil in coffee works well to raise temp.

@stag Thanks for those links but c'mon don't shill your NFT project here man

RE: Ray Peat's Marmalade?
@Peatriot but if I strain I lose all of the delicious sugar orange water that I've been painstakingly distilling since before this forum existed...
@torporade The recipe makes sense. I made the mistake of not scooping the pulp or cutting into thin enough strips. Not a mistake I'll repeat, I'll tell you that much.
I think I'll keep boiling off the excess water and then accepting the fact that my strips are bulky.

RE: How I Overcame Asthma
@Sophocles Really interesting article. Main actionable advice for asthmatics is to:
- Take a form of PC (and try to increase your consumption of phospholipids by consuming egg yolks and liver)
- Inhibit PLA2 with something like Gingko Biloba or Pycnogenol
- Inhibit the LOX enzyme with something like Boswellia Serrata or Clove.
Would be great if people who are asthmatics and interested in this reported on their results. How do you think about dosing and avoiding side effects / interactions?

RE: are there downsides to drinking 1.5 liters of HFCS Coke per day?
@Chud Large amount of undisclosed starch in those beverages due to how HFCS is made.

RE: Glyphosate doesn't matter
@anabology One more thing about microplastics - they're xenoestrogens. So when he was talking about ubiquitous estrogenic compounds in the environment or stressors he's implicitly including microplastics.

RE: Glyphosate doesn't matter
- Glyphosate may substitute for glycine and contribute to kidney failure.
- Glyphosate is a probable carcinogen according to the IARC monograph.
- Glyphosate was only initially approved by the EPA on the back of fraudulent trials, one where the PI was eventually jailed, and another where a cancer specialist found the carcinogicity statistically insignificant because he found a small tumor in the control group
There are many good books about it, including Whitewash by Carey Gillam. You can also watch the lawyer Brent Wisner, who won the $B verdicts against Monsanto, argue his closing statement that glyphosate is carcinogenic, genotoxic, and hepatotoxic.
Ray does mention glyphosate, he says, "Glyphosate is very bad because it's poisonous in a variety of ways."
The arguments about low acute toxicity are exactly what the Monsanto lawyers use and I don't think they apply because we're chronically exposed, which is why glyphosate is found in breast milk, urine, and blood of practically everyone in this country. We should probably follow Mexico and Russia and ban it outright.

RE: Welcome!
@Charger Good suggestions for subforums, I'll make those. I agree with your second point as well. Everyone should feel free to report posts or posters they feel are unnecessarily degrading the experience. On the third idea, there are some people who are creating a searchable archive which I would be happy to link to, but I don't think I can host it here.

RE: Ray Peat's Marmalade?
@Peatriot I added the sugar. Probably way too much water. Also, consistency seems way off, not sure if I cut the peels thin enough. Is there some way to fix? Boil off the water, add gelatin, and blend it all together?

Ray Peat's Marmalade?
Has anyone made Ray Peat's Orange Marmalade? I've been simmering it all day and it's not marmalade texture, just a bunch of soggy orange peels and pulp in water. I have a feeling I messed something up.

@Lovesickh18 That's a wonderful idea. Created a category here.

RE: Easiest things to do as new peater
@solbrahfan1488 Adding a tablespoon of coconut oil to your coffee every day, along with sugar and milk. Drinking 2-3 coffees a day.
