@insufferable people will not accept anything in a book either. You cannot convince someone of something they have convinced themselves to believe. I know because I was one of the worst of them.

I heard Mike Ma also looked far more aged than before he did the raw diet stuff - if I'm getting all my facts right. Could mean a rough future for SolBrah if he doesn't change his ways... On that note, I'm also near SolBrah's age. Interesting to see all that he made for himself. "This guy built an entire business off of selling overpriced snake oils and Amazon-tier clothing at the age of 23. What are you doing at that age?" But he does say good things now and then, using anti-zionist language, and even cautioning the usage of ebonics which I find more controversial amidst the rise of African-coded mannerisms in pop culture. But that unfortunately is all the more damning, grifters are always cynics who occasionally drop a small treat now and then to alleviate criticism. I don't really hate him though. I find his poor nutritional advice the most egregious part, since he can at least use his platform to spread some good information if he's gonna grift. I dunno how telling people to eat raw is gonna make him money. Just seems like poor judgement on his part. But he can turn things around, I think he has the potential to be a fair character.

@Ray-Van-Winkle Yeah I had yesterday off so I decided to take 2g niacin just to see what would happen. Mild itching. Took a shower to provoke a worse reaction, and react it did... made me appreciate being a slow reactor, frankly. Progress for me is slow (weight loss, learned helplessness overcoming, energy production, etc), but is still tangible, and if one can tangibly tell they are moving a good direction maybe it's best not to rock the boat. I still enjoy taking MB though... will just be more conservative with it. Aspirin is meh; I tried megadosing it to do some uncoupling but it wasn't exciting. Probably will just take a couple now and then for supposed aromatase inhibition. I think dietary changes have had the most influence on me. There are many things I want to try out for their "uniqueness", such as pregnenolone, Haidut supplements, etc (this is why I tried out MB), but I'll need to curb those desires until I can accurately get an idea of what my body's condition is.

@asdfjkl said in PUFA testing?: Hello, This is my first time posting on this forum so please forgive if I have fumbled on any house rules. I did look for my topic but didn't find anything that matched. There seem to be some relatively simple "at home" type tests out there that can be used for checking the amount of Omega-3 fatty acids (e.g., EPA and DHA) in red blood cells. Some are done through a finger prick while other tests are able to be ordered online, out of pocket (no doctor or insurance) and taken to a nearby participating lab. While these tests are typically used to justify adding fish oils and the like through diet or supplementing, I would think these tests could also be used "off-label" to show when the numbers are "high" (in the RP world). Has anyone ever done a test like this on your own and, if so, have you found it to be a reliable way to check in on efforts to keep PUFAs low? Are there other, better ways to check? What is the ideal range for these types of tests (through the metabolic/Peat lens)? Thank you. Hello, Haidut said he got a test for ESR (a marker of inflammation ) . The lower the score of ESR the more likely to have PUFA deficiency.

If you restrict PUFAs very strictly you will never have a reason to visit a doctor.

Bread has too much PUFA. Even sourdough bread baked without oils have atleast 1 gram PUFA per 100 gram bread from the wheat itself. I dont think its possible to achieve PUFA deficiency if you eat bread on a regular basis.

@JulofEnoch said in Charity, volunteering, service: @Peatful I bet the residents love that time spent with you and your family. I've spent many long days in nursing homes and the like and residents could talk about a visitor who came and played blackjack with them for weeks afterwards. I remember a woman who spoke about a young violin player who came six years prior, only once, and she remembered everything about that young woman, her music, what the rest of that day was like. It's a big deal, especially when some assisted living places are, unfortunately, where people are sent to be forgotten and made ignorable by their families. This is touching And demonstrates the power of just showing up Thank you for sharing

@Wily I don't know much about Spice but I know a little. Probably the greatest room for issues is that there isn't a singular Spice; there are hundreds of synthetic cannabinoids. IIRC, the first synthetic cannabinoid which made its way into drugs was actually made by Pfizer. Most Spice comes from China or India, mostly China. There are zero quality regulations and it's reasonable to assume an amount of outside contamination. The major synthetic cannabinoids are frankenstein amalgamations of aromatic compounds, amines, and whatever else. The result is that for most synthetic cannabinoids(save for the most common ones) have no toxicological assessment and their metabolites are unknown. As to recovering the brain- progesterone, pregnenolone, thyroid, K2, D3, Vit A, niacinamide.

@BioEclectic I definitely have sinus issues (my entire life) and had a CT scan on my sinuses (head) last week. Blood work, many doctor visits (likely futile) and possibly surgery are in my near future. It would be amazing if these easy hacks take care of the problem! I'm also going to ramp up the sodium acetate.

I can't remember where I read this (it was so long ago), but I remember one prediction that was made for the future was that they were going to Blow up the Moon? It seemed so absurd I just brushed it off - but I guess anything is possible at this point. Maybe something big happens, but either way Life goes on. Anyway, I'm done being worried about any of this stuff. Things are getting worse (does not matter if anyone here has a positive mindset), there is a difference between being positive and being blind. We all know what the future looks like, so spend every single day accordingly.

Charlie is now attacking methylene blue check out his latest "Methylene Blue is Toxic Poison...Destroying Livers & Brains" https://raypeatforum.com/community/threads/methylene-blue-is-toxic-poison-destroying-livers-brains.52772/ This guy really has lost his mind. I think he is bitter that his health did not improve following what he perceived to be a ray peat diet so he is now basically burnign down anything that he sees as in anyway related to it. Really quite sad.
