@Sitaruim Posting this i initial reply which I thought got eaten up and got lost.. It may be a'more complete answer: Yes, purely from a bioenergetic standpoint. Not that eye exercises don't work and there are books that show us how. But I have not been diligent enough to do these exercises consistently enough and for enough duration. Simply put, I failed on the effort. But a year after I began reading and learning from interviews of all things Peat, in 2017 I began to put I to practice Ray's advice of eating liver every Friday (once a week). Till now, I still eat a serving of beef liver each week. 2 yesrs ago, I renewed my driver's license and it was the first time I was given a vision test in a long while. I passed the test and was told I no longer am required to wear glasses for driving. My myopia, or nearsightedness, was gone! My vision is not back to 20-20, but is clear enough that I was deemed free of the restriction thst I have to wear glasses for driving. So, from my experience, it took me at most 6 years to improve my vision to fix my myopia by a weekly intake of retinol-rich beef liver. But this was a pleasant surprise to me, as I wasn't expecting to improve my vision by eating liver weekly. I was already hypothyroid at the start, but I only wanted to improve my nutritional intake so that I would not be deficient of any macronutrient, or vitamins, or minerals, or clean air, and sunlight. It also helped that a few months before I began this process, I had stopped using my glasses because I hated the bifocals. I had reached an age where I was no longer just myopic, but reading small print became difficult. I think it also helped that I wasnt using "crutches" for my eyes.

@Peatly My magnesium intake is fine for the situation. I do regular bicarb and mag salt baths. The sleep is restorative sleep, it's not like a fatigue.

Why are you taking these in those higher doses and what have the effects been? If its just making you stressed more, you should lower or stop taking them for a while.

I am thinking that it is your skin microbiome and not your gut microbiome. Alcohol works instantly. I use it in a spray bottle and spray it a couple times on each side and then rub my arms around a bit. I use the highest % ethanol that I can get at the store. @Cearrson This is anecdotal to my experiences, so no sources. But I pay closer attention to the consistency of my movements than the frequency. Somewhere between 2 or 3 seems to be the consensus. 7 is a lot, and it would be interesting to know if it's watery like diarrhea or well formed. The best bowl movements in my opinion are the ones that are well formed but not hard or dense. The consistency I'm looking for is that of fresh soft serve ice cream right out of the nozzle.

@PeaterParrot I personally have not seen convincing evidence that aspirin would delay a shoulder injury repair. Aspirin has been shown to protect against excessive inflammation and scar formation in tendon repair.

@questforhealth I think the high concentration of B vitamins and magnesium far outweighs the cost of the high MUFA ratio, especially if you eat lean cuts. I just ate a single pork chop and I already feel so much better, it's a life saver right now.

@Buckian I've had some good results from bicarb intake. I noticed this after having Gerolsteiner for the first time- it has a pretty high bicarb content and I felt really good afterwards. From what I've seen about bicarb and bacteria, bicarb in fairly low concentrations can be a potent antagonist of pathogenic bacteria metabolism and boosts innate immunity effects against bacterial infections; it also boosts antibiotics(except for tetracyclines due to pH effects). This goes for respiratory and oral bacteria, which I have a personal desire to protect myself from. I wouldn't say that I take it because it gives me some particular feeling, but that it's easy to incorporate into my routine and covers several bases. OJ for the pre-sleep sugar, baking soda is there to help with inflammation and bacterial inhibition to avoid night time serotonin surge. I have a history of insomnia and difficulty sleeping, so dealing with serotonin around sleep time through sugar and salt has been a big help. Baking soda is sodium bicarb, so I get the sodium, the sugar from OJ, and the inhibitions from the bicarb. My rough math is that my bicarb to OJ ratio is high for inhibition concentrations. I usually do a small glass(4-6 oz) with 1 tsp baking soda(lightly packed). That's about 7g bicarb in 6 oz, which would be 37g in 1L or ~600mmol/L. That's well above the minimum concentration for inhibition(23-182mmol/L) and about 20% less than a minimum bactericidal concentration. I'm not going for an antibacterial effect, inhibition is good enough for me especially as I have a pretty healthy gut microbiome.

@bengobeil said in Grounding is the single greatest “biohack” I’ve ever found: While testing with a multimeter, I discovered the the wire that came with the mat wasn't conducting anymore! Why do you think this happened? Is is the bad quality of the mat you purchased, or something else?

@CO3 The question is what is the metabolic link between socioeconomic status and longevity? I suppose happiness/lower stress is the obvious factor but I suspect there are other psychological and physiological effects of power

@flexthorton Another option would be for you to consider physicians that are listed with Orthomolecular.org that treat endocrine issues. See here: http://orthomolecular.org/resources/pract.shtml
