Theoretically, maybe. But we live in a real world. So in our current world: not even remotely. Stress depletes all kinds of vitamins and minerals, and our food is more devoid of them than it has ever been in the history of mankind...
Starches contain no vitamin B1. Sugar, which is what starches are converted to, requires a lot of it.
The advent of white rice (where the thiamine-rich husk is discarded) caused up to 90% of the Japanese military to become B1 deficient!!!
