@yerrag said in Fat Loss, Metabolism and Lipolysis: @mostlylurking I know it's not the same thing. I've made chlorine dioxide countless times already. But Dakin's works, and it's a done deal. Next time, chlorine dioxide it shall be. Okey dokey. the second video shows how to make a consistent concentrated product that you dilute just before use. I've used it for several years. I keep the concentrated mix in the refrigerator for months and work out of it.

lidocaine demethylates DNA, so things like re-occurring rashes and ingrown nails get their "memory cleansed" and stop. I imagine the same applies to genetic mutations. Most things that increase the metabolism have that same mechanism. Progesterone probably too, I'd just take some of that and then hopefully you'll epigenetically adapt.

@Lothric You could try topical essential oils, dissolved in coconut oil. Oils like wintergreen and peppermint will be quite powerful. Lavender and clove could also be useful. Granted there will be an associated smell with this approach!

I remember reading somewhere minoxidil increased scalp PGE2, so it makes sense aspirin stops that

@yerrag I was on methimazole for 1 year when I was seeing a conventional doctor. I haven't been on medication for 4 years. I know Peat says hyperthyroidism is fine, but the high thyroid antibodies concern me. I now see a naturopath who doesn't want me on medication.

Eating enough fat and protein is important. Fats can act as "buffers" in the blood to keep the sugar level stable. Also I know the Peatsphere is generally anti-starch but I personally tend to find my blood sugar is more stable with a higher starch diet.

How was your bromantane experience? Have you tried kratom? Its not meant for long term use but its an antagonist at 5 ht2a and 2c iirc and agonises presynaptic 5 ht1a , also has some action at MOR (which we dont want but can be helpful short term esp. if pain issues) and at NMDA (antagonist). Its also an instant fix for anhedonia.

@cs3000 (weirdly it looks like the glycine added to aspirin doesnt prevent damage in the gut at least, maybe it would elsewhere e.g helping tinnitus, somehow a low glycine dose 250mg potently lowers the pain response with the same damage from aspirin, so alone without other changes probably isnt enough https://www.cochranelibrary.com/central/doi/10.1002/central/CN-00510392/full , probably still happens because of its intended effect on prostaglandins which are needed there or something (pge2 / cox2 involved in gut repair), or taking non dispersible form (dispersible form floats in the stomach liquid more and spaces apart, easier to deal with)

@Lothric If you're not so sensitive to the presence of anti-nutrients and toxins in grains which are made into starch for food, you can take starch with no problem at all. Ray Peat is sensitive somehow to them and cautions against eating starch, so he is disposed to be biased against starch. And so there is a prevailing negative take against starch among his followers. But Ray also says that if you have a high metabolism, which provides you with high energy, you are much less likely to be sensitive to such potential irritants and allergens. I personally have no allergies at all, as the last one I had for a long long time- allergic rhinitis- went away when my metabolism greatly improved as a result of a long period (4-5 years) of going cold turkey on PUFAs. A lot of people have gut issues, and this makes them have a valid point against starch. So, if you are so affected, by all means avoid starch. But if you're not, there is no sense following the anti-starch bandwagon. But if you are, maybe a way out of it is not to view it as a genetic susceptibility as much as a metabolic issue, and find a way to improve your metabolism. As improving your metabolism is like a tide that lifts all ships. It is worth your while to to spend more time on improving your metabolism than to work on each and every sundry issue in your body with a variety of nutraceuticals, supplements, and drugs that is like losing the forest for the trees. Yet a majority, even in this forum, like to take a microscope to every little issue, and end up with unresolved issues.

Exercise is an old family of senoytics. Senolytic effects of exercise in human muscles require acute inflammation 2024 We provide the first evidence demonstrating an attenuated senolytic effect of HIIE in human skeletal muscle under ibuprofen treatments, suggesting the necessity of inflammation for the exercise-induced senolytic outcomes.
