    Abstract Alcoholic beverages produced by fermentation (e.g., beer and wine) are powerful stimulants of gastric acid output and gastrin release in humans. The aim of this study was to separate and specify the gastric acid stimulatory ingredients in alcoholic beverages produced by fermentation. Yeast-fermented glucose was used as a simple model of fermented alcoholic beverages; it was stepwise separated by different methods of liquid chromatography, and each separated solution was tested in human volunteers for its stimulatory action on gastric acid output and gastrin release. Five substances were detected by high-performance liquid chromatography and were analyzed by mass spectrometry and 1H-13C nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. At the end of the separation process of the five identified substances, only the two dicarboxylic acids, maleic acid and succinic acid, had a significant (P < 0.05) stimulatory action on gastric acid output (76% and 70% of fermented glucose, respectively), but not on gastrin release. When given together, they increased gastric acid output by 100% of fermented glucose and by 95% of maximal acid output. We therefore conclude that maleic acid and succinic acid are the powerful stimulants of gastric acid output in fermented glucose and alcoholic beverages produced by fermentation, and that gastrin is not their mediator of action. ... When tested separately, oxalic acid, acetic acid, and L(+)-lactic acid had no stimulatory effect on gastric acid output. Maleic acid and succinic acid, however, significantly increased gastric acid output by 76% and 70%, respectively, of fermented glucose (Figs. 2 and 4). When given together in the concentrations present in beer, maleic acid and succinic acid significantly increased gastric acid output by 95% of MAO(maximal acid output) and 100% of fermented glucose.     Typically your liver is already taking hits, Calcium in the milk seems very beneficial, But the milk slows my motility and makes my stomach bloated , irritated, My skin might break out and I get sleepy. Ive been drinking it every day for about a week and a half, Things are sort of better? Do I just keep drinking it?

Low and slow, will even cap the total thyroid dose even if i don't "feel" a benefit, mostly because it would be hard to discern which substance is causing it. If i may ask, and if it were you, which thyroid type would you choose? Reasons why aren't necessary, i can even make a choice based on consensus, and the responsibility would be totally my own. It is a tough choice imo.

    A single portion (240ml) of UHT milk is like welcoming just one tourist in Venice. Not overcrowded. You get the value of the nutrient, but the load is manageable, allowing your small metabolism to process and keep the not-well-fit amino-acid under control (not used). If someone overloads himself with one gallon at a time, twice a day, it won't make you "more nourished." It will make you tired and leave your body feeling crowded and overworked by the demands of processing it all, when something is not well manufactured / recognized. Management is all. Even if you don’t perceive it. And don’t tell you know someone who … Finally: Think, perceive and act, as someone not far from here would say “If UHT milk is the only option, a single portion (~240 ml or half a gallon) is manageable. Think of it like one extra car on a quiet road — the system absorbs it without stress. Moderation keeps the metabolism in control. A moderate amount keeps the metabolism in control of what it can process and discard.

    @LunaticRed what @alfredoolivas said along with inhibiting cortisol, positive androgenic effects like increased strength, bone growth, anti-anxiolytic, controls blood sugar, controls inflammation from endotoxin. The list goes on. In reality, it is the TRUE male hormone.

    You can eat something beforehand so that you aren't so hungry. If you can't obtain vitamin E +/ saturated fat on short notice, try consuming something with caffeine after a pufa-heavy meal to aid excretion, and then eat something with sugar/saturated fat.

    I barely slept this week due to gut irritation. This never happens to me. I am usually perfect. I will quit drinking quarts of seawater a week. I now reccomend against drinking and eating things that tastes godawful.

But from my own experience, I believe it to be true. I think the problem happens when the sugar and the thiamine are in the stomach at the same time. About Dr. Costantini (from the link above): "He is a neurologist in Viterbo, Italy with his own practice and 2,700 + patients that he is treating with thiamine as an adjunctive treatment to their standard PD meds. He has been treating his patients with PD for over 5 years now during which time no apparent disease progression has been observed while symptom improvement has been significant for most patients. "As far as thiamine, he has been working with it since 2010/2011. "He said that even if they couldn’t come to his clinic, he could still try to treat them via email. He said he needed a copy of their medical records and short videos of a Pull Test, of them talking, writing and a short video of them walking." -end paste- Unfortunately, he died in 2020. I believe that he had more experience actually treating people using high dose thiamine hcl than anyone else. His research papers are here. I take thiamine hcl since I was unable to tolerate TTFD thiamine (the favorite of Dr. Lonsdale and Elliot Overton) because my glutathione level was very low. So I've relied on Dr. Costantini's clinical experience that is shared on his website. I value Dr. Lonsdale's and Elliot Overton's articles and videos as the information is pertinent to supplementing with high dose thiamine hcl too. I should also say that Dr. Lonsdale and Elliot Overton and Dr. Chandler Marrs all talk about TTFD's "paradoxical" reaction which is negative side effects from taking TTFD that some patients "have to work through". In contrast, Dr. Costantini said that there should not be any negative symptoms from taking thiamine hcl and if that happened (rarely), he would take the patient off the treatment for a week and then resume with a dose half the amount as what caused the problem. My husband takes 200mg of TTFD/day and has never had any problem from taking it.

    @basednigga2006 It is impossible to dose correctly, because there are many feedback mechanism involved, and interfering by just gripping into the spokes of the wheel is dangerous. It is always better to rely on your own body, if possible. Keep it healthy and well nourished. And find out why your cortisol is high, and work on the root cause, not the symptoms. But if you suffer under high cortisol, blocking it for a short time may bring you relieve and may be useful to bring you out of an acute situation. But not in the long term.

    @the-MOUSE If you feel rested when you wake up it shouldn’t really be an issue. But if you feel bad when waking up it could be due to stress hormones. Maybe eat ice cream before bed. It usually results in a good nights sleep for me. I also find that I need less sleep when I’m in good metabolic health.
