@CrumblingCookie said: Maybe it's time to up your scope before any more dabbling and to get an abdominal MRI to look for structural constrictions or masses and also your plasma levels of Ca, PTH, CT and a GI hormones panel at a specialized clinic. As for GI hormones my initial thought would be to check for elevated somatostatin (constipation, lack of motility, steatorrhea; pancreatic and reciprocal gastric dysfunction). In the US they typically run a complete GI hormones panel which includes SST but it's more selective and specialized in other places. Weirdly, the symptomatic treatment for SSTomas is the SST-analogon octreotide, due to a high affinity to SST autoreceptors. You'd be a 1 in 40 millions /year case with that. Anatomically, surgical removal of such neuroendocrine tumors are far from elegant. Clearly it's better to not have one. I'd work my way forward by exluding possible causes step by step. Not sure what your state of insurance and medical services provision is like where you are (Eastern Europe). At this point I would try to (also) get a contrast-enhanced full abdominal MRI without further deferral.

@anon545 I think liver will drop metabolism for different reasons like vitamin A or choline as you say but eggs don’t have as much vitamin A so it wouldn’t make sense. I’m leaning more towards blood sugar issues with the eggs, because it (tiredness/crash) seems to be exacerbated by coffee for me.

@yerrag said in Ferritin dropped from 170 ng/mL to 40 in 3 months?: Address Gut Health: Waking up burping after eating white rice suggests bacterial overgrowth or fermentation in the gut. SIBO often arises from slowed intestinal motility, which can be linked to low thyroid function. Well analyzed. Begin with sibo. Describe more symptoms in relation with the intestinal tractus and how long you suffer from. Otherwise you won't tolerate any appropriate food or supplement. Afterwards I could give a link to help.

@pittybitty said in Tired, Low temp, but normal pulse - hypothyroid?: Every food has its little caveats and you have to figure out yourself which are problematic for your individual physiology and which aren't. I agree with your statement and the detailed explanation. 1° "The fruit or fruit juice is because it is very easy to digest in comparison to other foods that include fats or starches". => Right. Sugar from fruit or honey is easier than starches to digest and assimilate. But it doesn't change the problem for glycemia (fruit juice vs fruit with fiber). I'd limit fruit juice. By the way, I let most of my fruit 12' in a bicarbonated water, at pH 8.5 to get rid of 95 % pesticides. Not always the choice when buying fruits here. (I've got a study if interested) (Or I could write a post) 2° fat is optimal for metabolism functions at 20 % minimum. Targeting 30 % is what I do, provided we don't need oil or nuts to reach this target. 2 exceptions: coconut oil and olive oil. Olive oil only used with my greens. One exception for me, not as a general rule: Macadamia nuts have no PUFA. I often eat once a day 5-8 nuts. Pecans nuts, not advised but I limit the take to 6 half nuts when I need fat to balance my breakfast when I eat "Jordan simply crunchy" (oat with honey). 50 g oat a big handful of thin shredded coconut slices 6 half pecan nuts sometimes a tbsp chocolate buns. hazelnut milk or cow milk 240 ml. NB: This meal brings 1.5 g PUFA (omega-6). I target 6 g maxi PUFA for the whole day (4.5 g omega-6 and 1.5 g omega-3) on my Cronometer log. Pecans nuts are not a good choice, as for most nuts, but there are very reach in antioxidant. Thus I limit the frequency. Nobody is perfect

@Ilias-Ant Perhaps there is a lot of serotonin coming from your gut bacteria from having too much gut bacteria. You may want to minimize intake of soluble fiber to keep the growth of gut bacteria in check. At the same time, you may want to check if your lungs are clear, and if not you can take some supplements like NAC to help clear phlegm so that your lungs have good gas exchange and are able to breathe in oxygen and breathe out CO2 easily, as the proper flow of gas into and out of the lungs enables serotonin to be deactivated. Having a source of negative ions to breathe in by sleeping by the waterfalls or by the sea will help also, or alternatively a negative ion generator can be used in their place. Also, if you are able to produce more CO2 than lactic acid by having good mitochondrial respiration that produces plenty of CO2, your platelets will be able to carry serotonin with the CO2 to the lungs where serotonin can be deactivated. With less free serotonin that gets into your brain, you will have less chance of insomnia. Use of cyproheptadine will also help, but it won't help when there is simply too much free serotonin in your system.

  • Difference between Tyronene and Cynomel?

@RandomUser I’ve tried both and think it’s worth trying both Cynomel and Tyronene. Ideally crush (pulverize) Cynomel then start off with no more than about a 1/16th of the powder with food and only very gradually increase the dose. Cyproheptadine initially will make people sluggish or sleepy coz it reduces the stress hormones. Once (after weeks or months) the proper hormones start kicking in, eg thyroid, then it’ll still be working but not making you so tired. As far as the aspirin maybe try starting taking it in smaller doses and not on an empty stomach. Taking it with baking soda, diluted in a little warm water, with gelatin or caffeine might also be things worth trying. I’m cautious about MB and have only .once or twice tried a small dose because of Ray’s caveats. So can’t really tell any thing about it. I might try a little again at some point if i run out of other things that work.

@lobotomize-me said in "The dopamine system of healthy, highly creative people is similar to that found in people with schizophrenia": antipsychotic medicine increases D2 density and lowers dopamine, so one can argue that high baseline dopamine reduces D2 density BTW, I had some doubts about the statement above, so I've asked gpt to refine it... "Antipsychotics block D2 receptors, which can lead the brain to upregulate D2 density over time. This suggests that the brain responds to dopamine levels dynamically: when dopamine signaling is low (due to receptor blockade), D2 density may increase; when dopamine signaling is chronically high, the brain may compensate by reducing D2 receptor density. Thus, baseline dopamine levels may influence D2 receptor availability through feedback mechanisms."

@Osteo said in Coffee and AMPK: That's why I'm confused reading articles about how coffee diminishes cerebral blood flow... Or how coffee changes behavior.. Context matters. Coffee is beneficial if you maintain a proper diet and a healthy lifestyle. For someone (most average people?) who eats junk food, fast, or does keto, and undersleeps, coffee may be problematic...

@lobotomize-me - Reuteri yogurt is a very good suggestion. I have been making it since Nov 2023. I have it for breakfast. @gg12 - There are videos on YouTube describing how to make the Reuteri containing yogurt. Search YouTube for "SIBO yogurt". The theory behind how and why it works for SIBO is that pharmaceutical antibiotics can permanently disrupt the balance of bacteria in the GI tract and the naturally occurring reuteri that resides in the small intestine is one of the bacterial species that is permanently lost (along with other species). The imbalance of bacteria creates a situation that allows bacteria that normally only reside in the colon and large intestine to spread or "overgrow" into the small intestine, thus the term SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth). The reuteri yogurt reintroduces the lost species and some balance is restored. Digestive issues associated with the imbalance are resolved within about 30 - 45 days. Unfortunately, if you stop eating the yogurt the digestive issues return over time.

I’ve just started taking shilajit again this week after a long break (I honestly forgot about it for some reason), and it’s put me in a really social and calm mood, something I’d compare to phenibut. It improved my soccer performance, confidence, humorousness and overall calmness, giving me that “no fucks given” type of assertiveness. . This isn’t the first time it’s happened to me with shilajit, I remember it being so effective that I tried cycling off it during the holidays (to prevent tolerance when i really need it although i never got any tolerance build up to it ) and then just completely forgot it even existed. i am hoping this first week wasn't just a honey moon effect. i will keep yall updated interesting posts about shiljat: https://lowtoxinforum.com/threads/anyone-try-shilajit.18326/post-990710 https://lowtoxinforum.com/threads/anyone-try-shilajit.18326/post-990816

@BearWithMe, you’re welcome. @user2, I meant to ask you, when you mentioned highest well-being and energy state, would you mind sharing what foods work best for you to put you in that state? I’m curious if they’ve changed since you last shared and if you’ve found any new fruits that are working well for you.
