Increased Androgens: A pilot study on male volunteers (1 g/day for 1 month) found that DCI administration was associated with a +23.4% increase in testosterone and a +13.8% increase in dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA). Reduced Estrogens: In the same study, DCI significantly reduced estrone levels (-85.0%) and reduced estradiol levels (-14.4%). Androgen Precursors: In addition to DHEA, other androgen precursors like epiandrosterone also increased (+39%). Aromatase Inhibition: DCI is believed to act as an aromatase down-modulator (inhibitor), reducing the conversion of androgens (like testosterone) into estrogens (like estradiol and estrone). D-chiro-inositol (DCI) acts to mimic insulin and also stimulate PDHP (pyruvate dehydrogenase phosphatase), which in turn dephosphorylates and activates PDH (pyruvate dehydrogenase). Acute Post-Meal Reduction: Clinical studies have shown that DCI, often in combination with myo-inositol, can acutely reduce the insulin spike that typically follows glucose or carb intake. Improved Sensitivity: By enhancing the activation of the insulin receptor pathway (specifically IRS2 and GLUT4), DCI allows the insulin already present in your system to work more effectively. Sparing Effect: Because DCI mimics certain insulin actions—like promoting glucose uptake into muscle and fat—it can have an insulin-sparing effect, meaning the body achieves the same blood sugar control with lower systemic insulin levels. taking D-chiro-inositol (DCI) or similar mimetics with carbohydrates can reduce the body's overall need for insulin by improving how cells process glucose.

also posting here, someone on rpf posted about embryo rice, this is something I am looking into, apparently, and im not sure, it is usually brown rice , and in the package they will also put in the embryo from the processing of other rice into white rice to boost the nutrients. I might be wrong, it might also be brown rice that is only partially processed so that it removes something but retains the embryo, im not sure, it's sold at asian supermarkets and I haven't tried it yet.

@Rah1woot I feel that being erect and well-postured is no different from having good materials used in constructing a building. When I finished a year of taking therapeutic magnesium, with the intent of beefing up my magnesium stores for good bowel movement without relying on eating fiber (which I had always relied on pre-Peat), and which isn't good as fiber breeds bacteria that produces serotonin for bowel movement - I noticed it seemed natural and effortless for me to stand straight (like the way Ronald Reagan would stand, for I admired his bearing). Together with having good calcium sources in what I eat, as well as magnesium sources, especially in well cooked leaves, I found that the body would more easily support itself . Weston Price would observe the good structure of tribal people as well. They have a natural good posture, and they don't go to fashion modeling school to walk like models would. I had bad posture growing up. And by some twist of fate, I met a car accident and I was laid to recover in a hospital for a month, with a minor fracture at my thoracic. I was put on a cast for 3 months after being released, and was told I have to do a daily backstretch exercise to develop back muscles to further give support to the spine, weakened by the minor fracture. All these I went through and did, and my posture improved. But I don't wish a car accident on anyone, and I recommend good nutrition instead, especially with calcium and magnesium. I'll throw in the other electrolytes for good measure.

@SpaceManJim it's in his vitamin and mineral 101 guide, idk if it's a paid thing but it's on Anna's archive note he does not recommend 20mg mk4 that I've seen. that's just an example list I made with that amount. my point is to show maybe megadosing k2 mk4 isn't a great idea if the other fat solubles aren't stocked up

You’re welcome, @RPadmirateur. Thank you for letting me know you sent a PM as I wasn’t notified. My apologies if I gave you the impression that I’m a health professional, but I have no medical training so I don’t do consultations. Complex carbs triggered my hypoglycemia, but not simple sugars—the latter prevented it—and there was no transition to fruitarianism—I developed a severe case of gastritis when I had SIBO, which left me unable to digest anything but fruit. I didn’t go long without eating as that would crash my blood sugar, and there wasn’t a concern for stomach emptying time using dairy, eggs and seafood, no. I take 1 1/2 grains of Armour, no extra T3, with meals, this way I can safely go above the physiological dose of 4 mcg of T3 per hour. Since my diet varied when I still had hypoglycemia, I’ll give you an example day of eating that worked best for me and continues to: When I first wake up (5:00 am): Tea (decaf or herbal) sweetened with honey or Dolcedi apple sweetener Breakfast (7:00 am): Compôte with a chunk of raw cheese or flourless banana crêpes stuffed with strained yogurt and an all fruit jam (St. Dalfour), and a glass of juice Snack (9:00 am): Hot, spiced cider Lunch (11:30 am): A slice of crustless quiche (3rd pic from the bottom) or seared scallops with honey butter, a glass of raw milk and banana nice cream (last pic) Snack (2:00 pm): Hot, spiced cider Dinner (5:00 pm): Strained yogurt with jam or zucchini soup topped with eggs and strained yogurt (2nd pic from the bottom), a glass of raw milk, and a glass of juice Snack (7:00 pm): Sweetened tea Basically, I have fruit and animal protein at every meal and juice or tea between meals, and make sure to get sufficient calories throughout the day or else my sleep suffers.

@wester130 said in L citruline - yes or no?: Apparently it is not as bad as arginine Beyond the question of Peatiness of L-citruline, you could try watermelon and watermelon rind to get it from food. Being that I'm incredibly sensitive to supplements, I can juice watermelon rinds with no negative effects, but taking an L-citruline supplement definitely gives me the negative effects of low blood pressure and pulse, and excess NO. Maybe the NO from L-citruline would want to be avoided, from a Peat perspective, but that I don't feel those effects from watermelon makes me less concerned.

@Corngold Funny that this can be taken towards radical individualism or radical social-ism. I keep seeing the horseshoe theory everywhere...the limits of the individual are the limits of the group, and group size and number needs to be considered. I have recently been brushing up against this in a lot of different areas as well. Although I do not think about it in terms of a horseshoe, but more of a hub-and-spoke. As in a bicycle wheel. Actually it's a recursive hub-and-spoke. [image: 1731179848235-ca6533cf-83b4-44f2-924c-5a2998ee5930-image.png] Source is: https://x.com/HUMANMAXXING/status/1848831481046568967/photo/1 The hubs (more stationary, "sources" of power), have a more "female" quality. The spokes (protruding, "ejaculatory", exploratory, more varied (in terms of measured IQ for example)) have a more "male" quality. I think this maps really well onto the fact that males are a sub-variation of females (we still have nipples, fused labial scar on underside of genitals, etc...). @LetTheRedeemed had mentioned a similar sexed evaluation of the social hierarchy. As opposed to a "vulgar dialectic" of equal yin and yang. Individualism or socialism is as such a question of what place in the system is within your view. In the design of computer architecture management, an often-used dictum is "cattle, not pets". But this is myopic because you need pets to manage the cattle. Call it "sheepdogging". The center might be called The Party. The periphery might be called the Mass Line. Funny that this can be taken towards radical individualism or radical social-ism. The founding fathers were generally preachers towards individualism, but their individualism was indisputably enabled oftentimes by slave plantations or other structures. Hence the dissonance between Jefferson calling slavery a "hideous blot", designing Monticello in such a way as to see slaves as little as possible, yet still continuing the practice. Without this social structure their time at the constitutional convention and such would have been spent doing menial labor in the maintenance of clothing, housing, food. The "individualist", let's go with "software entrepreneur", is a phenomenon made possible by an incredibly socialized manufacturing and commodification of computers. Today a greater individualism is materially enabled by a vast socialized, standardized, electrical and communications grid. As Lenin said, "Socialism is Soviet Power plus Electrification of the Whole Country". Standardization of shipping containers. And so on.
